Ranked purely by how many units changed hands, with no margin filter applied. This is the clearest picture of what the game's economy actually runs on day to day, and it is dominated by the things players consume rather than the things they collect: runes, food, potions, ammunition and raw materials.
High volume matters even when you are not flipping the item itself. These are the prices least likely to be distorted by a single trade, which makes them a reliable reference point for whether the wider economy is moving. When staple supply prices shift together, something has usually changed in the game rather than in one item's market.
Volume figures come from the official Grand Exchange database, the same source the OSRS Wiki quotes.
