Why the 30-day low, and why volume matters
"Cheap" only means something relative to an item's own history. The 30-day floor is long enough to smooth out daily noise and short enough to reflect the current game state. But an item at its floor with ten trades an hour is not a dip, it is an item nobody wants; that is why this list requires real hourly volume. The items that recover are the ones people still use every day: potions, runes, ammunition, mid-tier gear, skilling supplies.
Dip or dump: the checks before you buy
- Sell volume trend. If instant-sell volume is still climbing hour over hour, supply has not been absorbed yet. Wait for it to flatten.
- Dump status. Each item page shows 07Flip's bot-dump analysis: whether the item is in an active dump, how long recent dumps lasted, and when the next one is likely. Buying mid-dump is the most common way flippers lose GP.
- The reason. A drop after a game update that removed the item's main use is permanent. A drop because a bulk seller unloaded is temporary. The update feed tells you which.
- Margin after tax. Recovery flips are slow; the profit has to cover the 2% GE tax and the days your GP is locked up. Use the tax calculator to see the real number.
The Premium dip presets
The public list here is the simplest cut. Inside the flip finder, Premium presets add the 24-hour deviation filter (items more than a set percentage below their daily average), an oversold filter that combines deal score with the RSI on the item chart, a momentum-recovery preset for dips that have already turned, and an all-time-low preset for items within 0.3% of their five-year floor. Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a dip and a dump in OSRS?
A dip is a temporary drop in a liquid item's price with buyers still absorbing supply, usually caused by a short burst of sells. A dump is sustained selling, often from bots or a merch clan unloading, where the price keeps falling because supply exceeds demand. 07Flip's bot-dump detection tracks abnormal sell volume over rolling three-day windows to separate the two; the live bot dumps page at 07flip.com/osrs-bot-dumps lists the items where the cause is a repeating sell-off.
Is buying at the 30-day low a good flip?
Only if the reason for the low is temporary. Check that hourly volume is still healthy, that the item has not lost its use in the game, and that instant-sell offers are still filling. An item at its 30-day low because a bot farm is flooding it can go much lower.
