The Official OSRS Podcast Episode 15 With Mod Jerv

--> Season 2 of The Official OSRS Podcast continues, with the second episode of the season featuring Mod Jerv! If you can't see the embedded content above, click here. Season 2 continues today, and this time we're joined by Mod Jerv for their first ever appearance on the podcast! If you've ever looked at a boss, reward, ship, armour set, or suspiciously gnarly bit of environment art and wondered how it actually gets from "vague idea" to something you can see in-game, this one is for you. In this episode, Mods Ayiza and Sween sit down with one of Old School's concept artists to talk about joining Jagex as an intern, rediscovering RuneScape after losing a very precious whip to an extremely believable "do you want to become a Player Moderator?" scam, and what it means to make new content feel like it belongs in a game with such a strange, specific, and beloved visual identity. We get into the real craft behind Old School's art style - knowing when to hold back, working around technical limitations, designing for a game that is proudly low-poly, and finding the line between "this looks amazing" and "this no longer looks like Old School". There is also plenty of chat about how concept art connects narrative, design, modelling, animation, and environment work into one shared direction. This episode was recorded on 2nd March 2026.
Season 2 is still rolling on, and across the coming weeks we'll be joined by Mods Ash, Archie, Surma, Nin, and Other, with even more stories from behind the scenes of Old School RuneScape. Thank you again for all the support you've shown the podcast so far. Season 1, the pilot episodes, and our creator specials gave us a chance to try something new, and your response is the reason we're able to keep going. We really hope you enjoy Season 2, and we can't wait to hear what you think! We've really tried to make something that you can enjoy listening to whether you're playing OSRS, on the commute, school run, or wherever else. We do need your help, however. Please give them a watch and a listen and tell us what you think. We intend to use the feedback we gather from the first season to shape what the future of the podcast could look like.
