Top Pete Kayer has arrived to help sharpen your PvP skills! Take on his challenges and get ready to confidently say, "1v1 me bro"...
Pete Kayer's Challenges Pete Kayer has arrived at Ferox Enclave, and has got a number of challenges to help you master must-have skills for both PvP and PvM content:
- •Prayer Protection - react to your opponent's gear switches to get the right protection prayer up in time and mitigate incoming damage. This one even has an endless mode which ramps up to maximum intensity for you to warm up in or try to beat your personal bests.
- •Power of Freezes - learn to use freezing/binding spells to control opponents and buy yourself time to safely log out. You'll also learn how to react to multiple opponents using Mithril/Adamant seeds! There's an endless mode here for you to practise as much as you'd like.
- •Special Attacks - master the element of surprise by learning to perform unpredictable special attacks with a variety of weapons. Once you've completed this one, you can use it as a 'free practice' mode where you'll be supplied with a wide variety of Special Attack weapons so that you can practice using them on NPCs with rapid Special Attack Energy restoration.
- •Gear Switching - go on the offensive and keep your opponent on their toes by learning to switch your gear in response to an opponent switching their own gear and prayers. This one's a great warmup even for the PvMers out there, and also has an endless mode which allows you to customise the speed at which your opponent changes their gear.
- •Combo Eating - sample Gielinor's gastronomic delights by wolfing down Sharks, Saradomin Brews and Karambwans in rapid succession. Here you'll learn the correct order to combo-eat in, as well as how to time them in response to incoming damage. There's an endless mode here too so you can really shore up your muscle memory.
- •Pete's Penultimate Challenge: Complete all of these and you'll be able to take on this challenge, a showdown with Pete Kayer himself using some mid-tier gear.
- •Pete's Final Challenge: If you manage to impress him at the Penultimate challenge, you'll be able to face his final one, a face-off in high-end gear where Pete will pull out all of the stops. You can expect him to fake his gear switches, predict your own, utilise freezes effectively and even combo eat.
- •If you manage to survive Pete's final challenge, you'll be granted a special item from Pete's collection of curiosities: an Ancient cosmetic kit for your Imbued God Cape, with Max Cape and Deadman Cape variants to boot!
- •As you tick off challenges you'll also be awarded a small number of Blighted supplies to help get you started in your first forays into the Wilderness, and a limited number of points (25) for Justine's Last Shopper Standing shop, so consider putting your skills to the test in Last Man Standing if you find yourself a few points off of a reward that you'd really like!
- •You can customise your loadouts for both fights with Pete and your combo eating inventory either in the UI before starting the task, or by right-clicking Pete himself and selecting 'Loadouts' under the 'Information' option.
Stackable Net Traps
- •You can now make stackable Net traps by combining Rope and a Small Fishing Net. This means the item will stack in your inventory, no longer taking up the majority of the precious inventory space.
- •Stackable Net Traps:
- •Require Level 29 Hunter to make
- •Can be traded with other players
- •Can be stored in the Huntsman's Kit
- •Can be bought at Hunter Shops
- •Can't be dismantled back into Ropes and Small Fishing Nets
- •Added right-click 'Reset' option to Net Traps, Bird Snares, Rabbit Snares and Magic Boxes.
- •When a Net Trap fails, it will now enter a 'failed net-trap' state similar to a Box Trap where you'll have time to reset the trap. Using the "Reset" option returns the traps to its active state, meaning you'll no longer need to pick up components from the floor and set the trap back up from scratch!
Other Changes
- •Eating a Wild Kebbit no longer gives a message about Moonlight Antelope.
