Today might be his birthday, but that didn't stop Mod Archie from joining us for his first appearance in this episode of the Official OSRS Podcast! In this episode, we sit down with Old School's Creative Lead to talk about his journey from early RuneScape content creator to JMod, how he ended up moving from Canada to the UK to join Jagex, and what it was like becoming one of the most recognisable faces of Old School in the game's early years. Mod Archie has been with the Old School team for such a long time now, and his role has changed a bunch during that time! Expect to hear more about his creator days, from max hit compilations and PvP videos to community Top 10s, emo backtracks, commentary, and building a platform that helped spotlight other RuneScape creators. We also get into how that eventually led to working with Jagex, joining the Old School team in 2014, hosting livestreams, running Q&A's, working with creators, and helping shape some of the early ways the team talked to players. We talk about about what role in Creative Services looks like today, from trailers and short-form videos to live-action skits, social campaigns, ads, creator collaborations, and the work that goes into making things that speak to both current players and people who have not logged in for years. This episode was recorded in March 2026.
Season 2 is nearing its final episodes with Mods Surma and Ash wrapping up the cast. Thank you again for all the support you've shown the podcast so far. Season 1, the pilot episodes, and our creator specials gave us a chance to try something new, and your response is the reason we're able to keep going. We really hope you enjoy Season 2, and we can't wait to hear what you think! We've really tried to make something that you can enjoy listening to whether you're playing OSRS, on the commute, school run, or wherever else. We do need your help, however. Please give them a watch and a listen and tell us what you think. We intend to use the feedback we gather from the first season to shape what the future of the podcast could look like.
